In addition to the life-guarded beach day use area, there are six parking areas north of the village on Highway 12. Each of these lots provides access to the beach via footpaths. Restrooms are available only at the lifeguarded beach (in season) and north ferry terminal, so come prepared. Some of these areas also allow off-road vehicles. Be aware that trucks may be sharing the beach. You should also be aware of restricted areas. During certain times of the year, some areas will be off-limits to vehicle and pedestrian traffic to protect nesting turtles and shorebirds.
