Howard Street Entrance Looking Out

Howard Street entrance in the 1970s looking toward highway 12

This photo was taken in the mid-1970s from the entrance to Howard Street. The road you see is N.C. Highway 12 and the building on the left is the current location of Down Point Decoys. At the time, this building was the home of Captain John’s Junk Shop. The Bluff Shoal Motel can be seen just beyond Captain John’s.
