History Hunt #7

A Teepee (or Tepee or Tipi) on Ocracoke? Can you identify the location of this picture from the 1970s? Hint: This area looks very much the same today (minus the Teepee, of course).

If so, you could win a “Planet Ocracoke” T-shirt. Anyone is welcome to enter. However, prize preference will be given to island visitors (past or present). All correct entries received by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, June 5, 2017 will be entered. One winner will be chosen at random. One entry per person, please. For an entry to be considered correct, it must be clear to our judges that you know where this is, so please make your description of the location as clear as possible.  The decision of the judges is final.

You do not need to be on Ocracoke to win. Shirt will be shipped to any deliverable address in the 50 states of the U.S.

The email address you enter below will only be used to contact you if you are our winner.

The History Hunt has ended. This was taken in the early 1970s at the corner of Howard Street and Lawton Lane. The Teepee sits in the corner of what is now Village Craftsmen’s parking lot. We received more entries for this History Hunt than any other – thanks for participating! The winner will be notified shortly.
